SUMMARY:London’s Victoria area addressing biodiversity
DESCRIPTION:Pollinating London Together (PLT) is hosting a tour on 28th April to show how developments in London’s Victoria area are addressing biodiversity. \nLandsec have created the UK’s leading portfolio of urban places\, investing in places that make lasting positive contributions to local communities and the planet\, places that stand the test of time. As long-standing major investors in the renewal of office stock in the Victoria area\, they keep environmental\, sustainability and social issues at the core of everything they do – transforming public realms\, incorporating rooftop gardens and terraces into many of their schemes. \nLandsec have a rich heritage of taking sustainability seriously\, committed to ensuring it remains a priority across their business. \nPLT Members and Ambassadors\, Quality & Service (Q&S)\, who have helped create and maintain these gardens\, with the kind permission of Landsec\, are offering a rare opportunity to visit these roof areas to learn how the Q&S team manage urban green spaces organically and help establish ‘green corridors’ that enable pollinators to thrive. \nThe tour will be led by Jack Davies\, Q&S’ Contract Manager for the Landsec Portfolio.

SUMMARY:Visit to Finsbury Circus Gardens
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to invite you to a special visit to Finsbury Circus Gardens\, the largest green space within the City of London at approximately 3 acres. Previously used as a Crossrail worksite during the construction of the Elizabeth Line\, the gardens sit almost directly above Liverpool Street’s Elizabeth Line station. Following the completion of the works\, the site was returned to the City of London Corporation\, with funds allocated for its reinvigoration. \nThe City Corporation’s Open Spaces team has led the transformation project\, which is now nearing completion—the builders are about to leave! \nAfter a brief introduction\, Jake Tibbetts\, Manager of City Gardens at the City Corporation\, will provide insights into the challenges faced during the project and the complexities of designing and delivering the new gardens. \nFollowing our tour\, those who wish can join us for refreshments at Gail’s in Liverpool Street Station for further discussions and networking. \n🚶‍♂️ Important Information: \nThe visit takes place outdoors\, so please dress appropriately for early May weather. While there is some shade\, the sun can be strong.\nThere are no toilet facilities in the Gardens\, but facilities are available at Liverpool Street Station.\nGroup size is limited to 20 participants\, so book early to secure your place! \n🌿 A perfect time to visit\, as the building works are finishing—don’t miss this unique opportunity!
