The Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch – capacity attendance and great support

Michael Hockney, Co-Chairman and Founder of The Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch, has provided the first feedback on another very successful event.

He said:

“On Tuesday evening, the Lord Mayor announced the financial outcome of the seventeenth Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch. The 2024 Lunch, including the other fundraising activities surrounding it, grossed over £500,000. After expenses, the Committee will be handing over the net sum of £402,000 to support veterans of the Armed Forces of the Crown into employment.

In our speeches the Lord Mayor and I thanked everyone who had contributed in so many ways to this financial result. The feedback has been that it was a very happy and enjoyable occasion with a full house of 1,650 guests so well looked after by 300 military and civilian volunteers.

We were graced by the presence of Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal who met veterans who have been supported with funding from the LMBCL in recent years.

Thank you so much for your support.”

A full report on the event will follow soon.
