The Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch inspires spin-off events

Michael Hockney MBE, Co-Chairman of The Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch, has exciting news of how new events will be used to bolster funds to support veterans.

“As members of the Livery will know, the centrepiece of the Lord Mayor’s Big Curry is the annual Big Curry Lunch in Guildhall every April. Earlier this year we raised the record sum of £437,000 which means that the Committee has given over £3.3 million to support our nation’s veterans since 2008.

Our Committee members, sponsors and supporters are now looking at ways in which they can put on activities at other times and feed the proceeds into our central ‘pot’. Cyrus Todiwala, the amazing chef and owner of Cafe Spice Namaste, has got together with some of the great wine makers to put on an evening of fine wine and fine food at the Cafe.

Even of you don’t like curry, I think you will find Cyrus’s subtle dishes something of a revelation.”
