The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Lord Mayor’s Appeal, Edward Braham, has announced the departure of Chief Exec, Caroline Wright.

Dear Supporters, Partners and Friends.

I am writing to share that Caroline Wright will be stepping down as Chief Executive of The Lord Mayor’s Appeal on 20 August 2025, after 11 years of dedicated service to the charity, 6 of these as our CEO.

Caroline joined The Lord Mayor’s Appeal in 2014 as Head of Events and became its CEO in 2019. Over the past decade, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the Appeal into what it is today, navigating the challenges of a changing City, including the COVID-19 pandemic, with determination and care.

Under Caroline’s leadership, the charity has:

  • Raised substantial funds to support our partner charities;
  • Strengthened and expanded our corporate partnership programmes;
  • Defined and delivered our four-pillar strategy, guiding all aspects of our work;
  • And built a vibrant and growing community across the Square Mile, brought to life each year through the celebration of City Giving Day.

We are grateful to Caroline for her unwavering commitment to making the City a better place for everyone. She leaves a strong legacy, and we wish her the very best in her next chapter.

As we begin the search for a permanent CEO, Sally Bates and Kimberley Mitchell will step in to jointly lead the organisation on an interim basis. Their experience and leadership will ensure continued momentum in our work.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our mission. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly.
