Committee members are expected to contribute actively to the work of the Livery Committee and uphold the standards expected by Common Hall. The core responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Committee’s Objectives
Contribute to delivering the Committee’s agreed objectives and key tasks, bringing your knowledge, enthusiasm and commitment to the work. - Attending Committee Meetings
Participate in the 3–4 Committee meetings held each year. Meetings take place during the working day and typically last between one and two hours. - Engaging in Sub‑Committees and Working Groups
Be willing to join Sub‑Committees or Working Groups when detailed consideration of a specific matter is required. - Participating in the Livery Liaison Scheme
Maintain regular contact with Clerks or Masters to share information of relevance and gather feedback or issues they wish the Committee to consider. Liaison may take place by phone, email or meetings—whatever is most convenient—and periodic updates should be provided to the Scheme Co‑ordinator or the Committee. - Contributing to Strategic Review
Assist in the periodic review and refinement of the Committee’s Strategy and Key Tasks to ensure ongoing relevance and effectiveness. - Attending Common Hall
Support Common Hall twice a year, including assisting with the admission of Liverymen to Guildhall and participating in the meeting itself. - Supporting Committee Events
Attend selected Committee events for Liverymen and Clerks, including Livery Briefings and other early‑evening engagements.
