The Gilded City Exhibition

The Gilded City brings together 11 members of the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers working with the ancient art of gilding. This marks the Company’s inaugural participation in London Craft Week, which celebrates its 10th edition this year. The exhibition displays a variety of skilled and boundary-pushing work, and also features demonstrations, workshops and tours of Painters Hall’s decorative artwork. This celebration of the craft of gilding contains a legacy of knowledge and skill gained over years of practice, threading a rich path between art and craft, the historic and the contemporary.
