Framework Knitters ‘Knit for Community’ helps over 1000 individuals

‘KFC’ began as a result of lockdown in April 2020, with the intention of making 20-30 blankets. Thanks to 650+ volunteers from across the UK, including some of the FWK Cottage Homes residents, members and friends of 37 Livery companies, and a number of charities.

Over 55,000 individual knitted squares have been sent from across the UK to be sewn into blankets and lap blankets to help keep vulnerable individuals warm.

Many of our knitters have enjoyed having something to do with their hands – some are ex-smokers, some need to keep their hands moving for medical reasons, and some enjoy taking part in a positive project to help others.

We are 100% volunteer run and members of the FWK have been collecting squares in Yorks, Notts, Leics and Herts. The project is continuing and if you know of anyone who would like to help please visit http://www.frameworkknitters.co.uk – information is on the home page. Thank you.
