Livery Climate Action Group releases 2026 report

Last Updated on 01/10/2026

The Livery Climate Action Group (LCAG) has released its 2026 report showcasing its work and impact, and demonstrating the considerable progress made across the Livery.

Chair of the Group, Alderman Alison Gowman CBE, said:

“Since 2021, the Livery Climate Action Group and the Livery Companies have worked collaboratively to turn a shared commitment to climate change action into practical progress.

The results presented in this 2026 Report provide an important snapshot of that five-year journey. They demonstrate the considerable progress made across the Livery community, while reflecting the diversity of individual Companies, their trades and professions, charitable activities, buildings, membership and wider communities.

Our vision is Working for a Resilient and Sustainable City of London. In aligning our purpose with that of the City of London Corporation, LCAG has created a group of 105 Livery Companies and three related organisations that together pledge to create a better City for all.

We work collaboratively across the Livery Companies, and as part of this we have created a huge resource comprising guidance notes, blogs and records of seminars and conferences; all hosted on our extensive website and YouTube channel.

Specifically, we want to support and amplify what the Livery Companies are doing to mitigate the impact of climate change – whether that is within their buildings, through their charities and project resourcing, or via membership and connected trades, crafts and
professions. This continues the heritage of the Livery Companies as champions of good practice.

To measure the influence of LCAG, we carried out a survey to which 86 members replied, and we offer here our summary of the results. The responses were truly exceptional and reflect the Livery Companies’ individual interests and aims, and how these shape their approaches to addressing climate change imperatives.

We have also explored the work of a range of Livery Companies in more detail by sharing 15 case studies; these capture the full explanation of their engagement in more depth. We could have chosen many more whose work is also outstanding. Thank you to all who have contributed to the findings of this report and for the continuing and committed work of the Liveries and their members that this 2026 snapshot represents.”
